EPC3- Ex.No.1: To operate /use various ICT tools such as computer, Laptop / Internet Interactive whiteboard, Tablet PC, iPad, iPhone, Mobile phones, Digital cameras, Multimedia equipment (audio/video), Skype and Video -conferencing.
Computer:
1. Power On/Off:
- Press the power button to turn on the computer.
- To shut down, click on the Start menu, then select "Shut Down."
2. Login:
- Enter your username and password to log in.
3. Desktop:
- Desktop shows various icons. they represent programs/files. Double click or give right click on the app you want to work on and from drop menu choose 'open' and give left click.
4. Start Menu:
- Click on the Start menu to access programs, settings, and files.
5. Internet Browser:
- Choose the browser and double-click on it (e.g., Chrome, Firefox) to open.
6. Using Microsoft office
- The applications of the Microsoft office can be opened by giving a rick click on the mouse and selecting the 'new' from the drop menu. It will show various apps like word, powerpoint, microsoft excel, etc.
7. File Management:
- Files created can be saved in the folders.
- Folders can be created from choosing from 'new' from right click on desktop.
- The folders can be saved in 'My computers'.
Laptop
1. Power On/Off:
- Press the power button to turn on the computer.
- To shut down, click on the Start menu, then select "Shut Down."
2. Login:
- Enter your username and password.
3. Touchpad/Pointing Device:
- Use the touchpad or mouse to move the cursor.
4. Keyboard:
- Type using the laptop's keyboard.
5. Connect to Wi-Fi:
- Click on the Wi-Fi icon in the taskbar, select a network, and enter the
password.
6. External Devices:
- Connect USB drives, printers, or other peripherals to the laptop.
Internet:
1. Connect to the Internet:
- To connect your device to the internet use ethernet cable or connect to wifi.
- To connect to wifi you need to know the name of the wifi network and enter password then click on connect.
2. Open Web Browser:
- Double-click on the browser icon (e.g., Chrome, Firefox).
3. Navigate Websites:
- Open search engines like google.
- Enter the topic in the search bar to know more about it.
4. Search Engines:
- Use search engines (e.g., Google) by typing queries in the search bar.
5. Email:
- Create an Email Id by clicking on the sign up.
- Enter your Email ID and password.
using a desktop email client.
6. Social Media:
- Log in to social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter) to connect
with others.
- Create an account for the social media platforms.
- Enter your ID and password to access the content.
Interactive Whiteboard:
- Turn on the interactive whiteboard and connect it to the computer.
- Calibrate the whiteboard to ensure accurate touch or pen input.
- Use the provided interactive pen or your finger to interact with the content.
- Open interactive software (e.g., Smart Notebook) on the computer for creating or presenting content.
- Save or share your work as needed.
Mobile Phones:
- Switch on the mobile phone.
- Access the apps using the password which unlocks the screen lock
- To make calls, go to the contacts, choose the contact you want to call, click on the call icon. When you are done calling, disconnect the call by clicking on the red icon.
- You can browse internet using any internet explorer like chrome or Firefox.
- Other apps could be downloaded using play store.
Skype and Video Conferencing:
1. Download and install the Skype or video conferencing software.
2. Sign in or create an account.
3. Set up audio and video settings, including testing the microphone and
camera.
4. Initiate or join a video call.
5. Use features like screen sharing and chat during the conference.
